St Dominic`s is a Catholic voluntary aided primary school centrally situated in a quiet area just off the main road in Athersley. 

Our school is for boys and girls aged from 3 to 11 years.  The school serves the 4 parishes of Blessed Sacrament, Athersley;  St Teresa`s, Darton; St Mary Magdalene, Cudworth and St Paul`s, Grimethorpe.

Parents and children come from a wide area in and around Barnsley, drawn to the caring and compassionate nature of our school and its wholly inclusive ethos.

In July 2012 St Dominic`s will close and become part of Holy Trinity, along with Holy Cross Deanery C of E School and St Michael`s Catholic and C of E High School.  Our changing landscape can be seen below ...
