Book Week

The week commencing Monday 28th February was National Book Week!

During this week children in all classes, from Nursery to Year 6, took part in many varied and exciting activities to foster their love of literature.  Pete Keal, a well-known Northern storyteller came into different classes to tell traditional tales which we all enjoyed very much!

The end of National Book Week was celebrated by a all children and staff dressing up as story book characters.  We had a fabulous day full of fun!

Reception Class

The Reception Class listened to Pete tell the story of Yo-i and the Giant, Abiyoyo.  The story is a traditional tale from Africa and Pete told it without a book!  The children used their imaginations to paint pictures of what they thought the characters looked like; they wrote character descriptions and wrote about which bits of the story they liked best and why ...
